More from Sphinncon Israel. Online Marketing, Google Ranking, SEO and more.

Continuing with the expert information gleaned from the Spinncon Israel conference sessions.
There was loads of information and valuable tips, so I will keep sharing.
ONLINE REPUTATION MANAGEMENT
+Shira Abel- from Abel Communications - says even a rep can be helpful ... as long as it is rebutted and answered to.  For example, she was optimizing her business but it got a bad posting on the website.  Many people responded and there turned out to be about 30 posts in the thread.  She diffused the argument against the company with hardcore facts and people began responding in agreement with her as well.  That got a lot of publicity from a negative comment.  As long as it is handled correctly, the negative publicity can turn out in the company's favor.
+ Menachem Rosenbaum of TENS-Technology (menachem@tenswebmarketing.com) said that every result in the top 10 of google need to be with a good reputation.  For example, a typical client such as a Hedge Fund in NYC with a bad rep- you want to work on their SEO results to have only good hits show up in the top 10.  That is the job of the SEO manager.  These SEO experts work on percentage earnings before and after the ranking changes.
+Dan Gershenfeld, CEO of Interteam- recommended to optimize LinkedIn- make sure it is current.  And he talked about content writing and online PR.

New Media Conference in Israel, Google Ranking... SEO Tips

I'm still in Israel and as you all can see have not blogged in almost a month!  Too much "vacation mode", but I am back on the saddle.
Continuing, as promised, with the Sphinncon highlights and all the new things I learned about new media, SEO, google rankings, lead generation, online marketing, PPC etc.
I managed to jump from conference room to conference room because there were two different tracks going on the same time and I wanted to hear as much variety as I could.  Ok, so here are all the tidbits I picked up - without further ado.
SEO TIPS
+ Gil Reich of http://www.answer.com/ said that you can't trust google searches when hiring SEO consultants. You need references.
+ Uri Breitman of TBWA/DIGITAL - said you need to check keyword searches analytics every day - there are always new queries for keywords.
PAID SEARCH TIPS
+ Chris Sherman- Executive Editor of Search Engine Land & President of Searchwise - said to always test your landing page- and keep optimizing it.  (Landing Page= the page where people are first brought to where the purpose is to persuade the customer to make a sale.)
+ Alex Chernowsky- landing pages should NOT be the homepage - visitors will get lost.
Leads ---> Sales ---> CPC.  Need a BIG prominent title - highlight a word.  Need trust indicators on your site if you are selling something.  Some examples are icons like - McAfee secure, 100% guarantee, media, cnn.com etc.  Then, have a "call to action" at the bottom.
Side Note:  CTR= Click Through Rate
This next idea is awesome!!!.....
+ Dan Perach- PPCPROZ- a mobile phone feature - you can google local businesses and then call the links straight! The "links" are dialable.
+ Asaf Paz- A Google Seminar Leader, WEBSEM- who is a certified AdWords trainer added that 97% of new visitors do NOT convert.  It's a cookie-based link (called Remarketing) so  it can last only if that user stays on the same computer.
Also, he adds, that before trying to drive more traffic by PPC, you need a good CTR, which So first you must have a good site- a good "landing page" before bringing people to it.

More to come... LOTS more to come.

The Sphinncon Conference in Jerusalem, Israel 2011 -Online Marketing Expo

There is no way my experience today could be just a day's worth of a post, so it will have to continue on as a series to get out all of the wealth of information I gained today at the Sphinncon Israel Conference.

Firstly, I will start by giving a backgroud and setting.  As per my last post, I was put in touch with some Israeli Online Marketing companies.  That's when I got wind of an annual massive conference that takes place in Jerusalem - for all of the TOP online media professionals in Israel and beyond.

It cost me 100 dollars to register and was held at the Inbal Hotel.  The registration started at 7:30 AM and I arrived arrived arounnd 8 although the actual seminars did not begin until about 9.  The program had back-to-back forums starting from 9AM lasting until 5:45 AM with a one hour lunch in the middle.

To be honest, a lot of what was discussed I actually already knew from blogging here. :)  But, that is not to say that I did not learn A LOT of nice new stuff as well.  Also, this blog helped me tremendously by just being able to follow along with all of the new media jargon.  That was a huge plus or else I would have been lost!

To be honest, it was a bit humbling sitting in a room with hundreds of people who were tops in SEO, PPC, Analytics, Link Building, Social Media etc.
Also, although I find this to be cool and exciting, it kind of bothers me how obsessed everyone is with google.  And the heavy attachment to people and technology.  It's almost like turning google and technology into a "G-d" and that these classes are their "Bible."

But... I digress... I guess it still is a 'honest' profession and undeniably the wave of the future (and present.)
So the people at the conference seemed to definitely be on top of their game.

I left before the last seminar because I felt I had absorbed enough info for one day - and didn't let the 100 bucks hold me back.

I did make a few contacts - one particular presenter Charles Kalech whom I spoke with about my idea of working to get new clients for SEO and online marketing companies.

Next post will have more info more specifically on what new "new media" stuff I learnt.  Stay tuned because it's a lot of nice juicy highlights from top people.

Shalom from Israel!

Account Services and My Meeting with Raphi Salem on Online Marketing

Been on a short hiatus from this blog.  Holiday season had everyone busy and in vacation-mode.
But a very recent connection in the online media world was just made, thank G-d.  And this meeting proved to be a wealth of information and some hope as well.

After blogging for some time about making money on the internet, rising in the ranks of search engines through SEO, Pay-Per-Click, Adwords and learning about affiliate marketing, link-building, lead generation etc ... I FINALLY met a man who is actually living out all of these concepts and not just thinking that he is!

I connected with a guy named Raphi Salem who runs a top SEO company called Salem Global, amongst other things. http://www.salemglobal.com/about-salemglobal-internet.php
He ranks the highest in the search engines for online marketing - unreal!
I do not plan to go into detail about the content of our meeting, because his business development ideas are not for me to disclose here.  But, whatever he had to share seemed pretty feasible and exciting to say the least!
Plus, he already has over 100 functioning websites that are optimized to rank high in search engines and link to each other as well.
Apparently he monetizes off of mainly google ads!!!
Also, lead generation- providing warm leads for big clients like real estate agents in Israel and dentists and dermatologists.  He searches google analytics monthly to check which search words are most common and then reaches out to those niche markets. Wow.  Brilliant.  Oh, and best part- there is a money back guarantee!

His main site was http://www.jewishweb.com/ - and from there he explained to me how he built his online empire.
He also gave me a few leads to people making money on this internet who are living in Israel.
This coming Sunday I will be in Jerusalem and am debating whether or not to spend the day at the SMX Conference http://searchmarketingexpo.com/sphinncon being held at the Inbal Hotel.

People I still need to scout out http://www.andreayager.com/

Will keep you "posted" (get it? :)
